Mindful Self Compassion

Mindful Self Compassion (MSC) is an empirically supported, skill development program for cultivating self compassion in our daily lives. The 8-week course curriculum developed by Kristen Neff, PhD and Christopher Germer, PhD teaches and puts into practice the skills of mindfulness and self compassion in order to enhance our capacity for emotional well-being.

You can participate in MSC in the following ways:

Introductions: In these 1, 2, or 4 hour sessions, we learn what MSC is, the science behind it, and the basic skills to bring MSC into your every day life.

Mindful Self-Compassion Coach: As a Certified Mindful Self Compassion teacher, I am honored to have received my comprehensive training directly from founders Drs. Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer in 2017. In our practice together, we will work one-on-one to develop a heartfelt connection with the most important person….YOU. Our coaching sessions will teach you how to carry this newfound compassion forward into daily experiences and strengthen your existing relationships.

8-Week Workshops: In these detailed workshops, we dive deeply into MSC, learning how to turn the lessons into habits so that we may live with self compassion every day. Specifically, we learn:

  • Self compassion is a skill that can help you meet life’s difficulties with wisdom and kindess.

  • How to offer yourself the compassion you would naturally extend to a dear friend or stranger.

  • A courageous attitude of mind that will give you emotional stability and resilience to be more fully present with uncertainty so you can recover from life’s difficulties and move on with more ease and confidence.

Circles of Practice: For graduates of the 8-Week Workshops. During these weekly gatherings on ZOOM, graduates gather to practice and reinforce the skills learned during the workshop.

Short Course-MSC: This 6-week adaptation is designed to begin the cultivation of the skills of self-compassion. It was developed to allow participants to begin to learn a targeted set of MSC practices with less initial time commitment than the full 26-hour MSC program. This program is currently taught online.

Private, One-day MSC Workshops: Ideal for corporate wellness/team building, families, or friends looking to deepen their self knowledge. Develop tools to foster a mindful, compassionate home, business, or professional environment which deepens the connection between its core members. Learn skills to create an atmosphere rooted in kindness, courage, and emotional resilience which strengthen the unit as a whole.

Private & Group Meditation

For those who are looking to learn how to meditate or deepen their mediation practice, I offer private sessions (one-on-one or group) to develop this skill.

Sessions are usually an hour, and consist of the basics on how to meditate, the science behind it, and a guided meditation. After you complete your guided meditation, we reflect on your experience and provide tools specifically to support what you need.

I also offer specialized meditation classes called Heartfelt Connections, which are meditations devoted to opening the heart through kindness and compassion, for ourselves and others. This is a great combination of meditation practice and MSC.
